The FDA Bioterrorism Act issued in 2002 requires all domestic and foreign food facilities that manufacture, process, package or store food or feed in the U.S. must be register their facilities with the FDA.
Registration renewals must be made biannually and only in even-numbered years during the period from October 1 to December 31. From January 4, 2020 all registrations must be made online and as a novelty from October 1, 2020 will be mandatory for all facilities and not only for the importer, to submit a DUNS number (Data Universal Numbering System) during the application renewal or registration of facilities.
